      The Population Register contains information on all persons who have resided in Greenland after 1 January 1977.The purpose of the register is to be the basis for population statistics, and to supplement other personal information with basic information about each person, like address and family relations.The Population register is updated with information from CPR (Administrative Population Register) where the following information is retrieved: name, gender, age, place of birth, citizenship, marital status, reference to mother, father and spouse, address of residence and more. According to §13 of the Act on Greenland Statistics, no person-related information is disclosed from the register, except for personal numbers, randomly drawn for surveysThis table has been based on information on adresses in the population registers (CPR). A household consists of all person registred with identica adress. The sligtest difference between the informations results that persons, who in reality live together, statistically are placed in different housholds. Changes in the number of households over time can be explaned partly by changes in reporting pracis by local registrants. Statistics Greenland advices caution when using this table. Households outside minucipals and Ivitutt district reflects local registration practice.timeKangerslussuaq became part of Sisimiut municiplity in 2002.timeApril 4th 2018 Tables from prior to this date slightly overestimates number of total households by 100
