In the last five years immense progress has been made all around the world in the field of enhancing tax transparency. Today it can be said that era of bank secrecy for tax purposes is over due to implementation of international standards of tax transparency and exchange of information on request (EIOR) by many countries that helps successful tackling of international tax evasion. Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes is leading the way in this process by promoting rapid implementation of high international standards of transparency and ensuring that these standards are in place around the world through the monitoring, review and assessment activities.
