National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) is to satisfy the Oman government's need of official statistics and reliable information to be used in setting policies and programs on local, regional and international levels; taking into consideration the accelerating economic and social variables. NCSI also seek to satisfy the needs of all authorities in acquiring data in all areas of development.

      Data cited at: https://data.gov.om/OMEDCT2016 This Data set contains statistical data on education covering the number of students classified by Gender and age group, the number of schools, classrooms and teachers by type and level of education as well as by specialization .Data covers the Sultanate as whole and in each   Education System in the Sultanate:-         -General Education:- 12  years duration.   ـــ Basic Education:- It is a 10 years system, children are enrolled at age six for grade one. The basic education which started replacing the general education in academic year 1998/99 is composed of two cycles: the first cycle is from grade 1 to 4. The second cycle is from grade 5 to 10. Those who complete and pass the second cycle are promoted to two years of study which prepares them to sit for general education certificate.   It worth noting that Grades' classification matches ISCED (11) classification as follow: Pre –primary is ISCED (02) , classes (1-6) is ISCED(1), classes (7-9) is ISCED(2) and classes (10 – 12) is ISCED(3). Higher Education:-University education covering the        students of Sultan Qaboos University        and students at universities abroad.Higher Technical College   .   College of Applied Sciences. The duration of  study is 4 years after the secondary  level .     Private Universities and Colleges.Technical Colleges ( Diploma).Institute of Health Sciences   -    Vocational Training Centers   ـ   Institutes of Shariah Sciences ـ    Fishctics Institutes Training   (Detailed information about government schools and their distribution by a governorates, number of students in each school by sex and number of teachers in each school is available in the educational Portal)

      Data cited at: https://data.gov.om/OMFRTRD2016 this Data set covers the statistical indicators illustrating the development of trade between Oman and other countries, and classification of  merchandise exports, re-exports and merchandise imports by commodity group, nature of materials, their final utilization and port of entry.  It includes also a table on of the balance of payments estimates.   The commodity classification used in the presentation of foreign trade data is the Hormonised System, which has been adopted in Oman since 1987, in addition to the SITC Revision (4) for international comparison.  Commodity values are estimated in Rial Omani on the basis of the (C.I.F.) value for imports (i.e. the cost, insurance and freight of goods to the custom points in Oman) and (F.O.B.) for exports and re-exports.

      Data cited at: https://data.gov.om/OMNTAC2016 This Data set highlights the most important indicators of national accounts, notably gross domestic product (GDP), production account, commodities and services account, domestic and national savings, and gross fixed capital formation. The Sultanate applies the new system of National Accounts (SNA) approved by the United Nations Economic and Social Council in mid-1993 after being presented by the United Nations Bureau of Statistics. Application of the system in the Sultanate was in two stages: the first included the preparation of the National Accounts series for the period 1980-1997 for Production Accounts and Generation of Income Accounts according to the international recommendations. The second stage started directly after the publication of the updated results of the first stage. During this stage, data were classified and coded according to the classifications stated in the SNA. The Current Accounts and Capital Accounts were constructed according to institutional sectors for 1998-2006, followed by the preparation and construction of Accounts of the Matrix of Supply and Use Tables and the Integrated Economic Accounts (IEA).

       This section covers statistical data pertaining to production and uses of crude oil, natural gas and minerals. Crude oil data reflects the quantity of production and exports according to the producer and quantities sold to the Oman Refinery Co.In addition, the data reflects crude oil exports by importing countries. It also includes data on Oman Oil Refinery classified by production and sales of each product. The section contains data also on quantities and prices of local deliveries of petroleum products according to product and Governorate. Natural gas data reflects quantities produced as per type and use . Data on other minerals gives the value & quantities of sales and exports by Oman Mining Company as per product and main importing countries.

Data for this data set were obtained from the meteorological stations and air navigation systems in various parts of the Sultanate. The temperatures over 24 hours are used in calculating the daily averages while the maximum and minimum values of thermometer were taken at 06:00 and 18:00 GMT respectively. Measurement of rainfall relied on measuring its quantity within 24 hours through records at 06:00 GMT at the end of the next day. Precipitation values less than 0.5 mm (effects of precipitation) are also recorded as trace. The relative humidity values are recorded using a hygrograph over 24 hours.
