Statistics Netherlands (CBS) enables people to have debates on social issues on the basis of reliable statistical information.The mission of CBS is to publish reliable and coherent statistical information which responds to the needs of Dutch society. The responsibility of CBS is twofold: firstly, to compile (official) national statistics and secondly to compile European (community) statistics.

Inequality is summarized by means of the Gini coefficient and 80/20 Ratio. Population: The population consists of the people in private households with income observed. The reference date is December 31 of the year under review. Data is available starting from: 2011. Status of the figures: The figures for the years 2011 - 2015 are final. The figures for 2016 are provisional. Changes July 16, 2018: The provisional figures for 2016 have been added. The figures for 2015 are finalized. When will new figures be published? New figures are expected in September 2019.
