Banco de la República is the central bank of the Republic of Colombia. Its functions are the administration of international reserves, serving as the banker of banks, as well as formulating exchange policy within the framework of the criteria and objectives laid down by the Congress of the Republic aiming at the regulation of foreign trade and the international exchange rate regime.

From January 2015, these entities register accounting transactions under International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS -. Therefore, variations with respect to 2014 data have statistical effects because of changes in methodology.
